Finally! Something new!

Today’s works come from a composition from Aaron Walz made back in 1998.
I did it foremost as a remastering and arrangement.

The song I did is called Battle, it lies on this page: near the bottom of the page.

Made in Midi format, I reformatted it in VST 3.0.
I thank Aaron for allowing me to work on his creation, his business and recent works can be found at the following sites:
(Don’t go to’s blog though, had a trojan last I saw and he uses FB for that purpose now)

Anyway, you’d probably want to hear my versions of the song after reading all that.

Projects are in the works!

So I’m still working on the songs I mentioned earlier.
As well as Passingly working on 2 others, one of which I just started.
And then I had a Dream last night where I mixed some songs from Ys 2 Special with a song from Touhou Labyrinth.
It does sound good, at least in my head. However I lack the knowledge presently to determine specific notes out of the songs to transcribe it as so that I can freely work with them without need of a Midi Basis.

I do intend to actually have at least one song done by the end of the month.

Sorry for the Haitus

Sorry everyone. It’s just been quite stressful as of late. But now I’m a high school graduate and have a lot more time on my hands.
I have decided that this day of the 30th of June, I shall be musically productive once more!
Tune in later today to see what I make!

Edit: I have begun work on two songs. I believe they shall be finished tomorrow.

On a trip

Hello again to all reading, this week I won’t have anything posted because I’ll be on an adventurous bicycle trip this week until the 10th of June.

Shade Abbey Arrangement

Well, here’s my first full-on arrangement since February.
It’s an arrangement of Shade Abbey from the Sega Genesis Classic: Shining Force.
I tried to make it have a greater emphasis on the haunted nature of the abbey’s ruins, making it sound like the dead are mournfully crying out.
The crashing sound within the song is meant to be a ruined bell sound, as the abbey’s bell continues to ring despite there being none alive to ring it.
I added a little thing on the end as the MIDI base I used ends quite abruptly. I thought it was a nice little thing to try.
I experimented with tremolos, and other inserts for the first time too.
Again I thank VGmusic for the MIDI base for this song.

Project Completion Estimate: One Day

Well. I got kinda distracted with the goings on of the weekend and yesterday I finished my last exams.

Tomorrow at school is the last Community Meeting and I have a small presentation about my experiences there. I see it only fitting that I complete a song for the occasion and try to make it stand out amongst my songs.

I’m going to have to think on the exact song I’ll do.

I want it to be a surprise even for the readers here.


Well, exporting my files took far longer than I had anticipated.

Also seems VSTs/VSTi that utilize an external application to work, have become ridiculously difficult to work right in Cubase 6 Artist. I think Steinberg’s forums should have a solution for me there or at very least evidence that one is being worked on.

So my big “kick it into high gear” thing….hasn’t happened yet. I’ve also been busy with a lot of work. I am in a school concert tonight performing in two songs. (on Keyboard) Which I think will go really well.

So, this weekend while being busy with a lot of possibly conflicting events IĀ  will endeavor to get an answer to my issue involving those aforementioned VST/VSTi and finish one song.

I feel creative

Today, during the doldrums of schoolwork I got a spark.

A spark of creativity.

When I get home, I’ll just use a flash drive for my VSTs and previous projects on my old computer and move them to my new one.

I’ll use Cubase 6 Artist instead of taunting myself with a somewhat limited trial of Cubase 6.

I’ll finish Romantic Children since that was closest to being done on my old computer and also get the pokemon song done today.

I’ll have to do my dishes quickly after supper so my progress won’t get stalled.

I feel like I have resolve to finish what I said I’d do. So I will.

No more waiting and being annoyed at a stupid cable, I’ll just get it done myself.

Tonight shall be a learning experience. *Grins*

A Song on the side

Well, last wednesday was a little different.

Marty List-TesdellĀ  from Great River School came to my house and I showed him some of the stuff I knew how to do in Cubase.

Sadly, as I wanted to try using the Cubase 6 trial that came with Cubase 6 Artist, I didn’t know how to do some things that had changed from Cubase 5 Essentials.

For the track we went with The Dark Cave song from Pokemon Gold/Silver/Crystal.

It took about an hour and a half, mostly due to figuring out some things.

This song isn’t meant to be the pokemon song I’ll be doing though.

Just a fun quick side project.

Took about 30 minutes separately to figure out how to change a part of a track as so that its levels would not continually drop so low as to be inaudible.

I have to thank VGMusic for the MIDI base once again.

Plan of Action

Ok. So, my old computer is fighting the cheap transfer cable my dad bought to ‘port my stuff from it to my new computer. I’m going to have to try even harder against its horribleness or go for broke and aim for a nice external hard-drive like my original plan was. But where to get the funds for this? Saving up money for LoZ: Skyward Sword (Whenever it comes out) and my dad gets most of my funds. (It’s convoluted.) I may have to ask from my elder sister and mother if they could put some money into the EHD fund.

It has come to my attention from a good musical associate that I don’t have the drums in my pieces very loud in comparison to the rest of the instruments used. I plan to fix this.

This weekend I declare that I’m getting my darn Pokemon Gold arrangement done one way or another. Also I’m thinking on doing an Original piece soon, my first. I just….need to figure out what it will be first. hehe. *Sweatdrop*

I won’t leave this post without some musical substance, so here my reflection on a piece from early February.

Darm Tower_ Final Fact of The Darkness (NES)

(Its got the rarity of a shiny pokemon with the pokerus in terms of arrangements, seriously.)

This song. I really like it. I’ve heard one other arrangement that was by Hallion Sounds which was awesome and wondered why weren’t there more songs of it. Then I decided to make one myself. Because of the fact that I enjoyed it so much.

It took 4 hours, maybe even 5. I was really trying to perfect it for myself.

I was more ambitious with the song; using incremental tempo adjustment, a greater variety in the soundscape (Left Speaker, Center, Right Speaker) which was fun, and just had a blast making it.

I again thank for the Midi base.

I actually used the midi base (plus my drums) for the intro, then orchestralized it, had some eastern instruments pop in around the middle, then for the end had all of the orchestral instruments on the left and the midi base instruments on the right.

My good musical associate would be LEAF XCEED’s Creator, Ramon Nario!

I do not hesitate to give him praise and an advertisement because his help has been invaluable over the years since I started speaking to him. Also, because his arrangements and original compositions are mega flipping awesome. Ok, Mainly because He is awesome in both regards (Help and Music).
